Cincinnati Opening Day Parade 2007

Opening Day is the Best If you have never been to an opening day parade you are really missing something. Beyond the fact that the weather was perfect for this years parade. I got to go with my 10 year old son. The parade itself is pretty good and lasted about two hours this year, but the real fun was explaining the who, what, and why’s of the parade entries. Because the Opening Day Parade is not as much about baseball as it is about Cincinnati. If you can’t find a ten year old to go with bring someone who isn’t familiar with Cincinnati. It will lead to a two hour discussion of all things Cincinnati.

I can’t think of a better way to spend a day or to build a memory. If you missed this year there is always next year. So pencil it in early and be ready to answer a lot of questions.

Thumbs Down to Major League Baseball for forcing YouTube and other outlets to stop showing Cincinnati Mayors Mark Mallory's Opening day's first pitch. The errant throw had people flocking to Youtube, MLB and ESPN to see it. Could it be that MLB was embarrassed by the fact that their own web site video section is down because of a major upgrade?
