The weather is still nice so it's time to get "rover" out for some excercise. And what better place the Dog Park in Mt. Airy Forest. The dog park is located at Mt. Airy Forest's Highpoint Picnic Area on Westwood Northern Blvd. between Montana Ave. and North Bend Road.

The Knotty Pine has been a permanent fixture on Cheviot Road for the past 50 years. A sports bar with live music Wednesday-Sunday, Knotty Pine also has weekly karaoke on Tuesdays, which draws people of all ages. Plus, the bar has a plasma TV, five hanging TVs, a pool table and darts. If you're looking for a sports bar with a love of music, this is the place.

Did You Know?

Did you know that Mt. Adams wat not the only place serviced by an incline. The Price Hill Incline was instrumental in spurring the areas growth. Here we see the privately owned Price Hill Incline as it looked in 1898. By carrying people 350 feet to the top of the hill, it allowed the area to be settled. It was shut down in 1943.

Price Hill Chili is a landmark on the west side. As the name suggest Cincinnati-style chili is the specialty of the house. Other uniquely local dishes served with high style include Coney Island hot dogs (topped with chili), double-decker sandwiches, and goetta (a locally preferred breakfast loaf made of pin oats, onions, and pork that is grilled to a crisp). Price Hill will serve goetta as a side dish with any meal or in a sandwich on rye, white, or whole wheat toast.

Maury's Tiny Cove has been a Fixture on the Westside for over 50 years. Since 1949, this West Side icon has served up cocktails and steaks in a setting that has remained largely unchanged. One could easily picture a swanky, '50s-era-suited gent sipping a martini at one of the red vinyl booths, checking out the dames by candle light. Great food and a unique atmosphere make this a place a must.
